About This Site

This network status page was developed to provide a service status overview for customers of Simply Hosting & Servers (a trading name of PoundHost Internet Ltd). The server is hosted in the USA so it is geographically separate from our UK data centres and network infrastructure.

There is an XML feed listing the current (5 minute) service checks. We also offer an RSS feed of our service announcements, both of which are freely available to customers and anyone else who find them useful.

Scheduled - At 09:00 on 17/01/2017 we are conducting maintenance to upgrade our connection to the LONAP peering exchange. We will shut down our peers and enable them later in the day when the upgrade is complete. No impact is expected as traffic will re-route via our LINX peers and transit carriers.

Completed - Mains power was restored successfully at just before 3pm.

We have been monitoring the situation for the past hour and we are now marking this maintenance as resolved and all-clear.

Update - The second phase is now complete and there will be no more works done by SSE today.
We are now in the process of transitioning back to mains power and will issue an all-clear once complete.

Update - The first phase of the maintenance is complete and the second phase will begin shortly.

Update - The first phase of the maintenance will start in approximately 20 minutes. We expect load to be transitioned between sources which will cause non-critical powered lights to flicker.

Scheduled - On the 12th of January 2016, our local DNO (SSE) will be performing maintenance on the portion of the grid which provides our HV feeds. For the duration of this maintenance we will be running on generator power only.

Switching to generator power for maintenance work is a routine activity that has been carefully planned for. We do not therefore expect any customer service interruption, but all standard maintenance should be considered an at-risk period.

Resolved - The UPS engineers have given us the all-clear and have left the site.

Monitoring - The part has now been replaced and load has been successfully transferred back to the UPS.

We are monitoring this for the next few hours before giving the all-clear.

Update - The UPS engineer is due on site within an hour and will begin work on arrival.

Identified - We have discovered a possible cooling fan issue in one of our UPS units. We have elected to have this replaced before the upcoming maintenance on Thursday.

This work will be done today and should be considered an at-risk period. We will update this incident with more accurate timings when we have them.
