About This Site

This network status page was developed to provide a service status overview for customers of Simply Hosting & Servers (a trading name of PoundHost Internet Ltd). The server is hosted in the USA so it is geographically separate from our UK data centres and network infrastructure.

There is an XML feed listing the current (5 minute) service checks. We also offer an RSS feed of our service announcements, both of which are freely available to customers and anyone else who find them useful.

Scheduled Maintenance
Legacy Switching Migration Feb 7, 2023 22:00 - Feb 8, 2023 04:00 GMT
As part of our hardware lifecycle management, we will be retiring some some of our legacy switching equipment in our Reading Datacentre. We will do this with a small portion of our legacy network at first and ramp up how much we move over time.

Affected customers will see a message in their portal account when a service is due for maintenance. Customers should expect to see an outage for their equipment as it is powered down and moved to our new switching environment.

Scheduled - We will be working on our datacentre fabric network to add network capacity to accommodate ongoing growth during this maintenance window. No customer impact is expected but we are raising this as an "at risk" network maintenance. Staff will be on hand (and on site) during this maintenance and the network will be closely monitored during this work to ensure correct network operation throughout.

Scheduled - As part of our preventative maintenance regime, we will be performing a black building test where we simulate a mains power failure to the building. Power will be automatically transitioned to the generators during this test.

We do not expect any problems or outages, however this period should be considered at-risk as there will be contractors and engineers on-site as well as transitions to and from generator power.

Scheduled - Maintenance will take place on our Hyper-V platform between 15th January and the 10th February from 01:00 until 05:00 GMT. During the update, VMs will be put in a save state, so they will be unreachable for a few minutes. If for any reason this isn't possible and the automated script fails, they will be forcibly shut down.
