About This Site

This network status page was developed to provide a service status overview for customers of Simply Hosting & Servers (a trading name of PoundHost Internet Ltd). The server is hosted in the USA so it is geographically separate from our UK data centres and network infrastructure.

There is an XML feed listing the current (5 minute) service checks. We also offer an RSS feed of our service announcements, both of which are freely available to customers and anyone else who find them useful.

For any queries, please call 0333 247 0222 or write to us at PoundHost Internet Ltd, Acton House, Perdiswell Park, Worcester, WR3 7GD

Scheduled Maintenance
Network Maintenance Sep 13, 2024 23:00 - Sep 14, 2024 05:00 BST
Update - One of our circuit suppliers providing connectivity between our London and Dublin data centres is conducting maintenance to their service.

As we have diverse circuits between these locations we do not expect any disruption and traffic will fail over to other routes, but those routes will be at-risk during the maintenance window.

Hyper V Standalone maintenance Sep 15, 2024 00:00 - Sep 30, 2024 00:00 BST
Maintenance will take place on our Hyper-V platform between 15th and the 28th September from 01:00 until 05:00 GMT. During the update, VMs will be put in a save state, so they will be unreachable for a few minutes. If for any reason this isn't possible and the automated script fails, they will be forcibly shut down.

Scheduled - Due to issues recently identified as part of a routine maintenance to one of our datacentre fabric switches, we will be conducting Emergency Maintenance this evening from 22:00 – 04:00 to rectify these issues, and once cleared perform tests to ensure the failover and failback mechanisms are operating correctly.

This maintenance carries a risk of unpredictable circumstances and therefore we are announcing as as-risk to routing and switching of services in our Reading Data Centre.

We apologise for any resulting disruption and will have resources monitoring the situation to recover any event as quickly as possible, should it were to occur.

Verifying - We successfully failed over to the backup RE in order to perform some tests shortly after 1am UK time.
At around 2:15am UK time, we had the results of our tests and we opted to revert all changes and back out of the maintenance.

Unfortunately this caused instability within the virtual chassis and the master RE initially failed to start protocols leading to an interruption to forwarding for around 5 minutes.

We made the decision to fail back to the backup RE again to restore stability and we will be raising this with our vendor before we take our next steps.

We apologise for any interruptions that may have been observed, no further changes will be made this evening however we expect that a new maintenance window will be announced for remediation works related to this issue.

Sep 4, 01:00 BST
Scheduled - We will be performing maintenance on one of our datacentre fabric switches. This will involve transitioning protocol responsibility between members of a virtual stack.
We do not anticipate that this will cause issues however it should be considered an at-risk period.

Resolved - Update: A solution has been found and we now believe that this has been resolved. We will monitor feedback and the network before fully closing this status.

We have reports from a small numbers of customers with intermittent traffic issues communicating from some Amazon AWS instances to our network. This does not affect all source or destination IP addresses but a small subset of traffic that is not predictable. We are currently investigating and communicating with the supply chain to resolve the problem as quickly as possible.
