This network status page was developed to provide a service status overview for customers of Simply Hosting & Servers (a trading name of PoundHost Internet Ltd). The server is hosted in the USA so it is geographically separate from our UK data centres and network infrastructure.

There is an XML feed listing the current (5 minute) service checks. We also offer an RSS feed of our service announcements, both of which are freely available to customers and anyone else who find them useful.

Scheduled Maintenance
UPS Battery Maintenance Dec 5, 2022 08:00 - Dec 9, 2022 18:00 GMT
During this maintenance period, we will be replacing several battery strings which provide autonomy to our datacentre. This is part of our preventative maintenance program in-line with manufacturer recommendations.

At times during this window we will activate bypasses and/or run at reduced autonomy or resiliency. However we do not anticipate any outages during this maintenance and it will be considered at-risk only.

Scheduled Network Maintenance Dec 9, 2022 01:00-05:00 GMT
Routine monitoring has detected that a small number of our top of rack (ToR) switches require a reboot due to a software issue. While they are currently passing traffic normally, this is a process we would like to complete as preventative maintenance before our annual engineering freeze in order to minimise any potential issues.

Please check our Portal to find out if your service will be affected. We estimate downtime to be around 10-15 minutes.

Legacy Routing Migration Dec 13, 2022 23:00 - Dec 14, 2022 05:00 GMT
As part of our hardware lifecycle management, we will be moving some routing functionality away from some of our legacy equipment in our Reading Datacentre. We will do this with a small portion of our legacy network at first and ramp up how much we move over time.

Affected customers will see a message in their portal account when a service is due for maintenance. Customers should expect to see an outage of no more than 10 minutes however we believe that it will be no more than 30 seconds in most cases.

Engineering Freeze 2022 Dec 16, 2022 09:00 - Jan 4, 2023 09:00 GMT
During the festive period we will be entering into an engineering change freeze.
This period will run from 09:00am on Friday 16th December 2022 until 09:00am on Wednesday 4th January 2023.
During the engineering freeze we will not be performing any manual changes to our core network and systems unless there is an operational issue or pre-agreed in another maintenance.
Automated systems will still function as normal.

Scheduled - Maintenance will take place on our Hyper-V platform between 15th November and the 4th December from 01:00 until 05:00 GMT. During the update, VMs will be put in a save state, so they will be unreachable for a few minutes. If for any reason this isn't possible and the automated script fails, they will be forcibly shut down.
